About Andaman and Nicobar
An array of islands in the Bay of Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar is one of the most scenic destinations of India. While the archipelago has nearly 300 islands, some of the islands are well-protected by the tribes inhabiting them and are not accessible by the public. The islands are also popular for the history of Kala Pani where several freedom fighters were imprisoned and brutally tortured. The ocean has rich biodiversity like coral reefs, rays, and other unique species of fish, making it a popular choice for scuba diving and snorkelling. The varying terrains of the islands include beaches, mountains, mangroves, and rainforests giving you a thrilling experience beyond most beach vacations. While most of the locals converse in bengali, Hindi and English are also widely spoken in the region. You can try a great variety of seafood here and coconut and rice are a part of most meals.
